So UC Davis messed up my application

<p>I applied to transfer to Davis from UC Irvine for Fall 2006 and I was rejected. Several months later I call them up to see if I could apply again for 2007, they said yes, but also mentioned that for some reason they thought I was applying from a community college. Apparently my GPA was pretty awful for a community college, but was still quite competitive coming from a UC.</p>

<p>Because it was already like a month or two before the start of school they said there was no way they could consider an appeal or anything, even for Winter '07. But I'm still wondering since it was their fault for messing up on my application, if there's still anything I can do? Would this be acceptable grounds for....maybe legal action?</p>
