So waitlist = no chance?

I really wanted to go to cornell, but I was waitlisted. Do I have any chance? In past years they havent even taken people off.

To be honest, it probably depends on how well Cornell predicted their yield. Some years they use the WL, some years they don’t.

They want the Class of 2016 to be smaller than the Class of 2015 - it’s a couple of hundred over ideal. The admission rate is lower this year. My guess is they did that on purpose and will probably take some off wait list. Good luck!

I was waitlisted as well (from CAS). Would visiting Cornell help in any way? How important is demonstrated interest for waitlisted students?

last year no one got off the waiting list. They admitted less students this year so maybe a few people might get off the waiting list.
