So, we got in!... now what?

^“Hope you’ll join us!”
-Fitzsimmons wrote it himself! I don’t know if he wrote the same thing on everyone’s letter, though.

^
I got that on mine, too. Even if he wrote the same thing, it was nice he took the time to write something to all 772 of us! :)

Not to burst bubbles but to me it kind of look copied on… if that is even possible…

Could you guys please give me some insight into how you’re paying for Harvard? I’m really curious

^ Financial Aid and prayer… haha… whimper

Did he really write it on each one?? Haha I was thinking about this, and it probably wasn’t as bad for the EA round, but if he did that for the RD round, his hand would fall off! I, too, was pretty amazed that I had something handwritten on my letter. It never happens at state schools!

Also, same as sebelius…

@Interficio: Shhhh, let me enjoy my dream world for a while ;)

^“Hope you’ll join us” is def written by hand because Fitz (or whoever) messed up on mine :P. It’s awfully personal now!

J

I’m pretty sure Fitzsimmons hand-signed all of them, along with the “Hope you’ll join us”. It just… looks like it. It doesn’t look photocopied, at least not to me. The Christmas card was nice; mine just said how she hoped to see me in Harvard Yard next year, and was impressed with what I had already accomplished, and how it was nice meeting me at one of my school’s college fairs back in October. I’m surprised she remembered me, frankly. So yeah, we’re definitely being courted quite heavily. I already replied online saying I’d attend. Did anyone else get a phone call from an admissions officer congratulating us and giving their personal line at Harvard in case we had any questions? Just another fine gesture, I think. It’s all really nice.

As for paying for it, I know I’m lucky. My family’s in a pretty high income bracket, so savings, setting aside some income, and inheritance from my grandmother are putting me through college. I don’t qualify for any financial aid, and I don’t have any siblings.

Hi guys, congratulations on the acceptances!!! Just wondering–are any of you planning on taking a gap-year? I’m going to be in the class of 2017, since I deferred my acceptance last year for two years for my mandatory military service. Would love to ‘meet’ a future classmate!

@JoonBug: did he mess up on the p? 'Cuz he did on mine…

Also, do we still have to send a Midyear report?

I think so, because at the end of the year we still have to send the Final Year Report–our offers of admissions are contingent upon maintaining our grades.

RE: paying for this bad boy…

I’ve got an NROTC scholarship that covers tuition, books and fees. I also get a stipend every month and pay for the activities I do over the summer through the Navy. My family has to foot room and board, which is going to be a bit of a stretch, considering our financial situation, but it’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make at this point.

@theagentofchaos: Will Harvard’s financial aid help cover the costs of room and board?

@theagentofchaos Plead your case. Harvard accepted us early for a reason: not only do they want us, but they’re absolutely certain that they really want us. I highly doubt they’d throw away one of the prized 772 over a few thousand dollars. If you haven’t already gotten something in the mail from the financial aid office, call them and explain your financial situation. I’d be really surprised if they don’t pay for most/all of it. Good luck!

hi! congrats on getting selected! you must be really very lucky…just curios to know do all applicants need to give SAT 2??? and what were ur SAT reasoning test scores?? even i want to join harvard…i still have one year but need to start preparing right? hope to hear from you…please help me out…

congratulations to all of you!
can you please put some of your stats(EC, GPA, etc.)to see just what Harvard is looking for.

You guys should start thinking of a new Facebook, or maybe a flying car or something !! Congratulations on getting in, leaders of tomorrow :)
