so.. what are MY chances?

aw man, reading you people's stats is making me more and more uneasy about getting into college. i feel like everyone's done more stuff in high school than me >.<

but anyway, i'll list my stuff but i don't feel like getting into too much detail. i'm applying to University of N.C. @ Chapel Hill, Duke, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, N.C. State, Johns Hopkins, and Stanford. lemme me know if you think i have any chance. stanford is more of a dream school.. i can't really expect to get in. my first choice besides stanford is most likely johns hopkins.

me: white female, born in Bosnia but now a U.S. citizen, resident of North Carolina

gpa: unweighted-4.0, weighted-4.95 as of end of junior year

ap's: 5's in english language and comp, u.s. history, calculus BC (and AB subscore), psychology; 4 in environmental science. this year i'm taking physics, statistics, english lit and comp, and government & politics

sat: math-790, verbal-750 (total- 1540)

awards: ap scholar with distinction, n.c. scholar, psat letter of commendation, junior marshall, academic letter and honor roll and other random stuff

extracurrics: co-founder and president of japanese animation and culture club, NHS member, a capella chorus group, beta club, geek club, environmental club, NEED club, sophomore student council representative, ambassadors club, lots of random volunteer work with the above clubs but none done on my own, etc. etc.

work experience: NONE EVER :D

sports: NONE ALSO >_>

other: been in many plays and choral things; taken several years of piano, voice, and guitar lessons; red belt in tae kwon do; bilingual (i speak serbo-croatian); experienced in html & webdesign; traveled a lot with my family; etc.

as for the other stuff.. i'm sure my recs won't be bad but i'm not the greatest essay writer.

please give me your feedback ^___^

anyone? o_o

well if ur uneasy about being accepted to a college with your grades, you better hope that despite your essay writing skills , that you can write that after they look at your paper they go "Wow." Your grades are good for NC, Michigan, and John Hopkins which are a match for you. Stanford looks for a lot more I dont know why but they do and so therefore STanford is a reach and so is Duke.

thanks for the input. anyone else?

You need 3 Sat II's for Johns Hopkins and Stanford.

Everything else looks awesome!

whoops, i forgot to put down my sat2's! i took math 2c, writing, and u.s. history. i got scores in the 700's for the first two but i think it was a 680 in u.s. history :/

thanks for reminding me, mendelssohn!

so does anyone have some percents for me? :)

<
work experience: NONE EVER

sports: NONE ALSO >_>

n...e...r...d...

sounds like your to UNC-CH no problem with scores like that! Thanks for replying to me thread!

wow can't spell **my!

thanks!

and yes, gh0st, i'm a nerd. :D

bumpety bump

pretty good most places, try and play up any unique ecs you have. Make sure you stand out! And NHS means nothing just so you know, 99% of applicants at your colleges will be in NHS. You have the potential to get in all of those schools.

thanks ^_^

my school's NHS is actually pretty competitive since my school is pretty large and full of qualified people. but i guess college admissions don't really care about that.

bump!

does anyone know percent chances of me getting in to those places?

Napokon josh neko is Bosne. Odlican GPA i SAT testovi ti puno pomazu.

I would say 99% chance NC State and 95% UNC...I would be very surprised if you didn't get in as a NC resident. But that's all I feel qualified to comment on, good luck!!!!!
