<p>What does “rising” mean? Like, “I’m a rising sophomore”</p>
<p>Psh. I don’t even know what school I’m going to in the fall, much less the classes.</p>
<p>Maybe I should quit transferring.</p>

A rising sophomore will be a sophomore in 2009-10 and was a freshman in 2008-09. It’s used to avoid confusion about class standing during the summer months.</p>
