Ooh, perhaps you can tell me if you know more about this. Do you know how much the fee for lessons is? Or what the difference between 80 and 90 is?

Haha, I am still trying to figure out my classes. I don't even have anything in the Primary Bookbag; I'm hoping this is not a problem.

I'm considering joining the chorale, too, but I have to wait until I get to campus for an audition and to ask to overload. I also have to see if I can 1. audition for any a cappella groups and 2. see when whatever group I get in to (if I get in) rehearses. We'll see.

I don't know exactly what the audition entails but the website says its informal and relaxed, so I wouldn't worry too much about it, after all, its not like we're auditioning for a major/minor (yet), just lessons. For classical piano, 80A is half-hr/wk lessons - expected practice time = 4 hr./wk., 90A is 1 hr./wk lessons - expected practice time = 7 hr./wk. On the course descriptions, it says that you must be at least at the intermediate level, whatever that means, to take lessons. For 80A, u will learn 2 pieces, 1 longer one, 1 shorter one. For 90A, its 3 pieces, you will also be required to attend some master classes or performances, or maybe even perform in them, not sure. There's also a class lesson, where there are 5 ppl in the class, each person recieves a short lesson and the others in the class will listen/critique the performer which seems pretty cool. The cost, I dont remember right now, is actually not that much - much cheaper than my lessons now. For the class one, its under $100 I believe for the entire semester, for the 1/2 hr lesson, its $200 something, and for the 1 hr one, its like $300 something, for the semester - so not bad at all.

Yeah, all my FOCUS stuff is on Tues/Thurs so I had to sign up for a lab on either MW or F. Id rather do it at the beginning of the week so Im more free time-wise during the latter part of the week.

i want to know if we as underclassmen can do lessons for free. I think I would like to have a second major in music, and music majors get free lessons in the category that pertains to their major. The only problem is that I can easily say that I am going to major in music just to get free lessons and then decide not to later. So I don't know.

I got shut out of my first choice Writing 20 class (Imagining Marriage in America) and Spanish 101, which I REALLY wanted...but I guess I'll just start back up with Spanish in the Spring. Overall, I'm happy...it's a little too Science/Math heavy, but as a Pre-Med considering being a Psych major, it makes some sense. Yeah.

lol I think u have to officially declare a major for that to happen, or had auditioned and been accepted into music school as a major/mino b4 during the admissions process. But then again, Im not sure.
