Then you choose another class out of your bag to satisfy that slot.

Malachi and DeMarchi rule, they teach really great classes

Yeah I have heard some good things about Malachi Hacohen and Scott DeMarchi.

Does anyone know anything about Michael Moses? I have heard some good things, but I just would like to hear from someone on CC.

Do you think the course evaluations are on the mark?

In that case, all of my potential profs have good ratings, which is a good thing I guess

Haha majayi I didn't know there was a professor at Duke w/ the same name as me. Anyways here the classes I'm taking

Math 103
EGR 53 (lecture, lab, recitation)
Chem 21 (lecture and lab)
Writing 20: Governing Culture Wars
EGR 10

As of now, I have NO classes before 10am! Plus, I have the first enrollment window so I'm gonna make sure I get my current schedule.... gonna have to move this mouse fast.

Changing my courses...I decided to tough it out with Org. Chem :/
Fall semester:
Math 103
Chem 151
German 65
FY Seminar 49S

Spring semester:
Math 104
Chem 152
German 66
Writing 20

I think I'm the only one taking Writing 20 in the spring. :)

a fellow orgo person...go us! :)

warblersrule...im taking writing 20 in the spring, and trying to get in the same seminar as you...lol.

you guys are taking some hard classes... orgo and math 103? have fun :) i'll be in math 32 hopefully cruising b/c of repeat material :)

Sorry to tell you this bsblllallstr8 but you wont cruise through Math 32. I got a 5 in AB and BC and knew the stuff really well and didn't do well in Math 32. It might have been because I had your state of mind in that I already took the class, I know everything there is to know. Trust me, Math 32 is significantly tougher than BC. The course doesn't exactly get the best professors either. Stay on top of your work.

warblersrule86 and leejwwc enjoy orgo. Prof Widenhoefer is a good professor. He got a dry humor. He'll also cover a realllll lot each class (just like any orgo prof would). Stay on top of the material! Try to read the chapter (or at least the outline in the study guide book) before going to class cause he covers the material in the book closely. The freshman class is probably tougher than the two other orgo classes but the curves nice at the end.

Also nonfocus people who dont have a good registration date--you probably wont get your first choice writing 20 class for the fall semester. Just a heads up if you have a writing class bookbagged--be prepared to change it or put it off till spring when theres more space for writing classes since the focus people didnt take them all up. Also youll have a better registration window (assuming youre not the first window for this semester).

Thanks for the tip. Chemistry was the class I was most worried about.

You mentioned it being difficult to get into your first choice writing course. It is as difficult to get into a seminar? I have the second registration day.

duke25, I have already been warned about the class, but I am positive that it will be easier than math 103, for me, even though I got 5s on the AP test... I did have a year off (AP test junior year). That is the point I was trying to make. Relative difficulty :)

You got me there bsbllallstr, it probably is easier than 103.

Warb- seminars didnt fill up as fast as writing 20 classes in the fall of last year. I got into the most popular seminar (physics 49s with han) on the second day of registration last year. (last year we registered monday through friday. i heard theres only 3 days of registration for incoming freshmen this year. is that true?)

yep 12-14 July

Yeah only 3 days. July 12th, 13th, 14th

Heh, I'm scared of 103 so I'm putting it off till second semester. I've already taken multivariable calculus, so it might not be too bad, but still.

bananainpyjamas - 103 is multivar. calc so if uve already taken it, it shouldnt be too hard for you. Maybe consider 103X - its the honors version of multi which is theoretically based if ur into math

Considering the fact that I loathe math I think I'll pass on 103X. :)

lol in that case i guess not :)

A LOT of people I've talked to said Math 103 was easier than 32. I guess because they are very different in content.
