so..what do you guys think?

so i have a friend..who is really really good @ piano....and apparently he thinks he can get into any school he wants to because of piano. his rank is like btwn 100-150; he goes to cinco ranch in houston; his GPA is like 3.9; and his SATs are like 760M 600CR&W (projected)....and i dont know what to tell him. he's sooo good at piano and i try to help him with his SATs, etc...but he seems to think that his scores are fine...what do u guys think i should tell him??? is he right?? or am i right to be worried for him?? oh and also he wants to get into music school and then transfer into another area of study....
he's also looking to apply to yale, northwestern, stanford, among others....

thanks guys!

If you look at the students who were accepted to those schools, they often had something wonderfully amazing (like piano) AND high SAT scores.

You can make of that what you will; after all, universities admit people, not 800s.

I actually have somewhat similar scores (740CR, 640M, 630W) and I'm planning to prepare & retake.

My friend got a full-ride to UT playing the piano but then again UT is no Rice so I would say state school probably but a Top 40 or so college no. But then again I'm not an admissions officer so it is only my speculation.
