So...what do you think of studio apartments?

Lookin' around...these are cheaper...but are they worth it?

What are their plusses/minusses...thanks!

Plus: If you want your own apartment all to yourself, this is the cheapest option.

Minus: It’s more expensive than sharing a multi-bedroom apartment.

I’ve lived in one and don’t have a problem with them.

barlum, i can see where ure coming from for the expensive thing, but they way it is with me, i only am gonna stay in the town for the academic time (that is, no need for me to rent over summer). so, with roomies ill be paying for those 3 months too.

so it comes to be a little cheaper in fact.

Many off campus rentals offer 10 month (academic calendar) leases that run from
Aug. 15th-May 15th.

That might be true if you can get a 9-month lease. Apartments in my area generally require a 12-month lease. You might be able to sublet your room or studio apartment for the summer.

Yeah, the few I’ve looked at in Ann Arbor by the campus are 12 months only. They have a “special” student deal for like 9 months but the cost per month goes up as well…

^Any idea what the cheapest 12 month you found was? Looking at studios myself.
