Schools: I'm not really sure yet, but I'm thinking about the University of Chicago, University of Michigan - Ann Harbor, Duke, Rice, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Cornell, Harvard, Yale, and Priceton. Basically, all of the top colleges.

Of course I have some safeties:
UT, Texas State, and/or Baylor

So, what do you think?

Stanford, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Cornell, etc. are all going to be big reaches. You seem like a pretty good canidate, and your marching band stuff is great, but it takes a lot to get into a school like this and it's going to be a banner year. And Stanford is just a killer regardless. You've got a shot, but I don't think you could get more than one of those.

UMichigan I think you can get fairly easily. Ditto with Rice. And Duke, too, seems like a good bet. Hopkins and Uchicago are a little reachier.

Find more intermediate schools! It shouldn't be Harvard or UTexas. There are TONS of other good schools in between.

Given that you can show a school like UChicago (or any school, really) that you want to attend, I think you have a very good shot.

If you go to Chicago, you'll graduate debt-free. :-)

respectfully disagree with all above me...PM me when you get into them all, mexican or not

Yeah, i'll probably look for some more intermediate colleges, I have some in mind, but not really, cuz i forgot them.

OK, i found another college. How does Pomona sound?

Pomona is a great school. But it's tiny. I know two girls who got into Yale regular and did not get into Pomona. One was waitlisted, one was rejected. An intermediate school would be a Macalester/Carleton/Connecticut College sort of place.

you're a URM with decent stats, you're in if the rest of the application is good :)

You mean in to Pomona or in to any of the schools? Just wondering.

I always thought of schools like Baylor or UT as being good schools, maybe in that intermediate level.
