I have heard that college is so cool, and you get to do so much more stuff than in high school and that there is so much to do....so im just wondering..like what?

Nobody has given me any specifics...they all just say college rocks......What fun stuff do ya'll do?

An average Friday or Saturday night consists of grabbing dinner with friends, going and watching some live music, going to someone's house for a movie, going to someone's house for some more live music, go to another person's house for a dance party, snackage, and sleep.

Just living with your friends is the best. When you're bored you will find yourself doing the most random things... You can't honestly know what it's like until you experience it..

um. wow. Hard to answer because there is So much.

I performed in a 24 hour improv show. Awesome experience. In fact, all of improv is great

Movie nights and cocktails with friends

Clubbing

just living communally with a bunch of friends is cool...always someone to talk to

Boardgames--Risk!

playin' in the snow

concerts

long walks headed nowhere in particular

coffee shops!

weird as it may sound, my church group is awesome and we do some really fun stuff hanging out together (lazer tag, poker night, swing ball, theology discussed over a good brew (and I don't mean coffee..), etc)

and studystudystudystudystudystudystudy(this is why I am up at 2am, incidentally...not fun stuff!)

By the way, I think that the main reason people say "college rocks" is, if you're like me, it's the first time you're living away from home--you have a completely new kind of independance--if you want to go to the theatre, you can just go. Don't have to tell anyone, don't have to schedule around anything, you can just do whatever you want. It's one of the few times in your life that you don't have to take care of or take anyone else into consideration except you or your friends. It was funny, the first month or so in my dorm, my floormates and I would always have this urge to inform someone or even ask permission if it was okay to go somewhere or do something. We're all over that now ;)

Yeah I kinda just do what I feel like or what needs to be done. Like I have a bolt of energy around two in the morning. I go running in a well lit area (and maybe stop by some friends who are still up). Just visit friends (I have a lot) and party. If you don't party there are sporting events (I hear basketball is big at U of I. I wonder why? haha) For the non-athletic there are plays and movies and plenty of other stuff to do. Three weekends here is what I did. Weekend #1 - Saw a play [Psychosis 4.18], Stayed in and did my huge chem lab (it isn't all fun and games ya know); Weekend #2 - Halloween, ate out, went to a sketch comedy show, went out to extremely packed parties; #3 - went to see a hip-hop dance competition, went to an apartment party. See that is several different kinds of things in three weekends. Just last weekend was frat-partying and this one was studying. I think the randomness of "hey let's go buy tostitos and chocolate milk at the gas station across the street although it's one in the morning" is fun in itself. It is just an experience that can't be explained but must be lived. Hope that helped.
