So What/How Many College have you visited?

Title says it all.

I actually haven't visited any, but when school rolls along, I'm definitely going to tag along with some of my friends! Maybe even visit on my own and "shadow" come college students. I'll probably have my parents come along with me as well, but they are always busy.

So those of you who have:
What your favorite campus?
Campus with the best food?
Best dorms?
Best social life?
Ugliest campus?

I have visited:
Brown University
Boston University
Boston College
Northeastern University
St. Lawrence University
SUNY Geneseo
Wesleyan University
Fairfield University
Barnard College
Fordham University
Sacred Heart University
Assumption College
College of the Holy Cross
McGill University
Vassar College

Colleges I have ‘unofficially’ visited, or pretty much looked at without info or anything:
Harvard University
Oxford University
University College London
Salve Regina University

What your favorite campus?
-I liked Boston University a lot. It’s not really a campus, though, more integrated into the city. Out of country, I think McGill has a nice blend of college campus and city integration. Vassar also has a nice campus.

Campus with the best food?
-I didn’t try the food at all of the campuses. Wesleyan has a really good selection, though. They had stir fry!

Best dorms?
-Fairfield has nice dorms. McGill has single dorms. What do you like better?

Best social life?
-Couldn’t answer for this one. I’d assume that the colleges in cities have a good social life. And, surprisingly, the town of Oxford is very active.

Ugliest campus?
-Fordham. I just didn’t like it, though.

^Wow! You’ve been to several! I’ve only been to two! haha I went to Davis and Berkeley. Personally, I wasn’t too fond of Davis. I didn’t like their food or their scenery. It’s right next to a freeway and some of the buildings had the air conditioning unit falling out the window:/ I am also not a big fan of riding bikes everywhere, and basically everyone owns a bike there. I like Berkeley better. I didn’t have any of their food so I can’t comment on that, but the scenery was nice and the people seemed more helpful. I went on self-guided tours for both campuses so I asked a few people for help. I was sworn at by someone at Davis, but at Berkeley the person seemed more helpful. Obviously, I realize that that was just one person at Davis, but overall, I found Berkeley to be the better of the two. I would like to see a few more as well, so I think that will be something I do during the school year:)

Wow you’ve visited a lot. Just wondering how was Holy Cross’s campus?. And nice to hear Fairfield has nice dorms. Holy Cross, Fairfield, and Trinity are my top college choices!

Holy Cross has maid service in their dorms, apparently. The dorms themselves are pretty standard, but maid service is a nice plus.

The campus is on a hill overlooking the city of Worcester. It’s separated from the surrounding area. The buildings are old and the insides of some of them reminded me of Hogwarts. The science building is very new, though, and they apparently use graduate level technology. They also have a nice Student Center, where the bookstore is, with a coffee shop and another store that sells snacks. In general, it was nice. Cold, when I went, but nice. I imagine ice might be a problem sometimes.

I’m a senior and my parents have had me at college searching since sophomore year. So we’ve had time, I guess.

^ Thanks for the info! Very informative! I was on the edge about applying to Holy Cross if I don’t get in ED at my first choice since I don’t know much about the school and can’t visit, but I definitely will now I think.

I haven’t “visited” any colleges in the sense of going to learn about the college, but I’ve been to a few.

I’ve spent a few days running [literally] around the Assumption College campus. Although it’s a bit small, I love it! I’ve never been there in the spring, but I would imagine it would look beautiful.
Harvard also has a nice campus and a great location.
I wasn’t all that impressed with Boston College
I went to a science conference at Salem State 2 years ago but I don’t remember much. What I do remember is that the buildings seemed pretty cramped together.
I was at Worcester State College a few weeks ago and the campus seemed as if it was built on a parking lot. Lots of asphalt. It does look pretty modern so the buildings may be nice on the inside but I’ve never been in them.

In short, I really like the Assumption and Harvard campuses.
