Hopkins is your typical top schools. Some are nerdy, some sporty, some party animal, etc.

But like they can’t be perfectly even which group is bigger than the rest?

it’s really a mix. if you’re worried about fitting in - you will fit in. it’s really diverse and there’s a place for everyone.

I know I’m late to this thread, but I hope I can add something that will be of help.

I adore Hopkins. To answer your question regarding nerdiness, I would characterize Homewood as a “gloriously nerdy” campus. At the time of my first visit, I had never experienced such a sensation of belonging, and afterward, such a clarity of desire; I wanted to be a Blue Jay. To apply Early Decision remains the best decision I have ever made. I say this genuinely. I love it here.

There is never a shortage of things to do. There are tons of parties every weekend (and, frankly, quite a few during the week), as well as hundreds of student organizations and clubs with which to become acquainted, athletic events to cheer at, cultural exhibitions to experience, art museums to visit, concerts to attend, impromptu dance parties to start, dreams of conducting great research to be achieved, life-long friends to be made, frisbees to throw (don’t forget brooms to ride, I love me some Quidditch), and one, truly amazing city to explore.

What’s JHU like? Life at Homewood can be just as peaceful or raucous, as studious or lackadaisical, as isolated or social, as stressful or relaxed as you would choose to have it be at any point in your time here. The great versatility of the life of a Blue Jay is one of the things that makes Hopkins so beautifully unique. You will never be pidgeon-holed here. You will be encouraged by your peers to try new things, to gain new experiences, to think differently and to achieve things you would have never dared try elsewhere.

Homewood is an amazing place. It may not be for everyone, but it’s sure as hell the place for me.

Once again, I hope I helped. Best of luck to you!
