Yes...I'm pretty nervous about my decision. For last year's acceptees, what was your letter like? Small/big envelope? Thick/thin?

I'm working from a feeble memory here, but...

If I recall, last year's ED acceptance came in a midsize 6" x 9" envelope. It was thin, containing just a single-page letter from James Bock and a small return postcard/envelope for sending the deposit check. It didn't have any clues on the outside.

RD is a big white envelope with "It's the Fat One!" written on it :)

We were kind of looking for the "It's the Fat One" envelope. But, that is not what they used last year for the ED acceptances.

They use thin envelopes for RD as well, if they send you their decision early (mid March). I remember seeing the thin envelope and having heart palpitations. When I realized there was more than one piece of paper in there, I figured I was waitlisted, so I was pleasantly surprised to find an acceptance letter in there.
Hope you guys had fun during Discovery Weekend...one of my specs didn't.

why not?...good to know that the envelope's thin. Sigh. I hate waiting and thinking that there's nothing I can do about it now, that it's out of my hands.

I feel your pain man. I just reread my essays for the 9th time and have sharp pains in my stomach. If we both get in that would be amazing. You can count on one friend next fall if that ends up happening!

Making friends is NOT a problem for freshmen at Swarthmore. My daughter's experience is that it is a very sociable, welcoming place with friendly kids.

Yes, that is true. We went to pick up my son from Swat last evening. There was a bunch of freshmen kids (I know their faces from the facebook they gave us) standing in front of the Wharton parking lot and singing and waiting for their parents or someone to come and pick them up ....yes, the pressure is off and waiting to go home but they looked like a bunch of kids who knew each other well and were comfortable with each other. And no, they weren't drunk, just happy.
