So what kinds of colleges can i get in?

I live in Saratoga,CA. My GPA is 3.58. I go to Lynbrook.

School Profile: http://lynbrook.schoolloop.com/school_profiles?no_controls=t

I want to major in CS.

Are you a Senior?? If you want to stay in California, calculate your UC/CSU GPA: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

What is your SAT/ACT score? EC’s? AP/IB classes taken? Do you want Private/Public/Large/Small/Rural/Urban?? How much can you and your family afford?
Willing to go out of state?

You need to answer the questions so we can make recommendations…

I am a senior and I don’t really care about what types of college. My UC is like 3.58. I have taken 7 APs and my parents can afford any college. I am taking the ACT this saturday and based on my practice tests, my score will be around 33.

GPA is low for most of the UC’s. For matches, look at UCSC/UCR/UCM. UCSB likes high test scores vs. GPA so you might have a shot. For CSU’s, you should look at SDSU/SJSU/CSULB/CPP. For reach schools, SLO & UCSD/UCLA/UCI/UCD/UCB.
If you afford Privates, I would look at Occidental, University of Pacific, University of San Diego among others.

My younger son applied last year for CS. UC GPA 3.73 and ACT 31. He got into UCR with $5000 scholarship, SDSU/SJSU/CSUF/CPP/CSULB. No other UC’s accepted him and was rejected ED/RD from SLO. He is currently attending SDSU.

Good Luck on the ACT and your applications.

Oh yea. I forgot to mention that the current gpa displayed is unweighted. I don’t know if this makes any difference but my weighted is a 4.01. I have interned at a small company, attended several college basketball camps, and was in varsity for 3 years. Does this make my chances better?

And my school is number 1 STEM. I am actually quite worried and I’m sorry if I am posting too much.

@ohGODplease: You stated in the ^ above post that your UC GPA was 3.58. UC GPA is weighted so what is your unweighted GPA, your UC GPA weighted (up to 4 honors or AP classes) and your fully weighted GPA??
For CSU’s EC’s do not count but for UC’s they do make some difference. UC essays do help also.

I’m really sorry about the confusion. My weighted UC is 4.01, unweighted 3.58. very sorry about this. but thank you so much for your time

That changes things. Since you do not have an ACT score yet, I think you should wait and repost when you get it for better chances. With that GPA, you will have more choices.
