rejected: cal poly san luis obispo AND uc san diego
accepted: sdsu, usf and uc irvine
waiting: uc berkeley, uc los angeles, claremont mckenna, pitzer, and occidental

BUT I really want to go to Berkeley ... what are my chances?
it feels like life is over at this point.

Thank you so much Banshee Beat
Your post makes me feel a bit better.
I’m happy about it, but I wouldn’t go unless I get rejected from all of the UCs first though.

I’m just really scared about Berkeley since everyone else on here is saying that the chances are slim since I didn’t get into UCSD.

Is that really true? I didn’t make the cut for UCSD, so Berkeley and LA are automatics rejections?

I know a girl who was rejected from UCSD, but was accepted to UCB, so it doesn’t mean an automatic rejection. Hey, you got into three schools, that’s not bad. Be proud of yourself. Have you considered USF? My son goes there and really likes it.

So what now? Don’t stress about it and just wait out the ride. There’s nothing you can do to change their decision at this point. And hopefully their decision is a yes. I’ll cross my fingers for you. :]

wow i applied to similar colleges lol
for your waiting… oxy and pitzer have pretty high acceptance rates so i wouldnt be too worried but then again… lol oxy got 6007 for like some 450~ spots
just wait it out =]

congrats!! u got some great schools
but i know it feels to be turned down from ur number oneee and i hope u don’t have to go through that
so much good and bad anticipation until the 26th! good luck!

p.s. i just joined college confidential and let me say what a great website! ppl are being super nice and making me feel somewhat better about rejections… thanks all

HEY EVERYONE!
i just wanted to thank you guys for the warm words.
“caaill09” i def. agree with you with everyone being so optimistic and positive.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.

BUT, i just wanted to say that I GOT INTO UCLA!
YAAAY! But, the anticipation still isn’t over bcuz i’m waiting for my dream school: BERKELEY!
aahhh, no i have to face the myth of getting into one, but not the other.

Shansaya - congrats! UCLA is a world class university and you should feel great about getting in there. Good luck with UCB, but UCLA is a not a bad second choice.
