So, what should I be doing now?

So I enrolled last week at Stanford and will start next Fall. I am pretty set on going into I-Banking (preferably in the UK offices since I've come to love this place but I wouldn't mind anywhere else all that much). I completed an internship at Bain & Co. last summer, which I know is fairly rare for pre-college Wall Street aspirants. I also run a small business where I and a few friends produce and direct plays, offer classes etc. Oh, and I speak several languages fluently and will most probably be an Economics major. So, this is all that I've done so far. Can any of you offer me some advice as to how I can better set myself up for a career in I-Banking during the next four years?

P.S: Will knowing a lot of people in Consulting (including a close relative) help me in breaking into I-Banking?

P.S 2: I know a lot of the stuff I did above is irrelevant to I-Banking but I thought I should provide a more complete picture of myself for you guys to better advise me on my future path. :)

Thanks! :D

Honestly, with an internship at Bain under your belt pre-freshman year and attending Stanford this fall, your big goals should be maintaining a high GPA landing boutique IB internships. Essentially, you should target boutique IB as a rising soph, then BB IB as arising junior AND rising senior and have a strong resume going into FT recruiting. You should also have a decent network by the middle of your soph year for SA positions (as a soph you will need a strong resume AND some connections), and then by your junior and senior years you should be networking hard.

Finally, your internship at Bain will definitely help, but you will need to be able toanswer why IB and NOT consulting during your interviews given your early consulting experience. Your interest/side business is interesting and won’t hurt you, but won’t help you much either.
