This makes me very happy. My score increased by 220 from last time and 410 from the first time I took the test.

800 CR

730 W

2190, with a 2200 superscore! :D

Hii … for someone who has done well in prev SATs math section (760) and on the SAT II Math 2C (760), is it weird if I went down to a 660 in math this time around?
And is it just me or did people score lower than expected across the board this time on the math section?

780 CR
710 math (fail)
770 W
= 2260.

I’m ecstatic, my score increased from 1800 to 1940.
710 writing
570 math (yes yes i know)
660 reading

Improved 340 Points:)

Sigh…I took it to raise my math to at least 700…just missed it…kinda disappointed…

CR - 800 (ok, yeah, I’m happy about that )
Math - 690 (new bane of my existence)
Writing - 790 (from 12 essay to 10…oh well)

770 math

680 cr (@#$)

CR-730

Wow 2260!! So surprised! This really might help my transfer application.

800 CR
690 Math
770 Writing!!!

Unfortunately, the 690 math reflects sorta negatively on my application as a computer science major, but it’s not too bad.

My first score was a 1900 so this is some major improvement.

Super happy with the results:

Math - 730
CR - 700
Writing - 800
Total 2230

Only took it once before (last October and scored 2060. (M - 670, CR - 660, W - 730)

No time to practice full tests or even full sections, but practiced a section (20 or 25 minutes or sometimes just the 10 minute writing test) at a time from the blue book checked out the the library; I practiced mainly the math which was totally in line with the 730 score. Practices of CR never came close to 700 so that was a nice surprise. Writing - when super pressed for time, did a 10 minute test.

While taking the test, thought the math, writing was easy and the CR was very hard

While I am not the total powerhouse that some of you seem to be, I was SO HAPPY.

I took in May '09 and got 2110 (770 CR/700 M/640 W) and was angry about the writing (as it’s the only section I thought I would do well on).

This time I got a 2250 (800 CR/680 M/770 W) so 2270 superscored.

Now I truly feel that my SAT score won’t be a limiting factor. If I’m rejected from some of my top choices, at least I’ll know that it wasn’t because of a score on an idiotic test (that truly is not an indicator of my intellect, but my ability to take a silly “reasoning” test).

Last year i got a 1950… this time a 2080! that’s 130 pts

Breakdown:
CR: 700
MA: 680
WR:700

At least I was pretty consistent right? haha

how did everyone improve? For those who did. How did you do it? Extreme studying? Tutors? Classes? How?

I live in Florida–mine are “delayed”–anyone else?

Also: I took the PSAT last year as a Sophomore w/ a 179. This year I am a Senior (doubled up on classes over the past year). So it is plausible I had a big spike in score. Would it flag as cheating with an increase in score from PSAT to SAT?

liveforit:

The first time I took the test a few years ago I did it without any preparation and scored a 1900. After taking like 4 sample tests and studying a bunch of vocab words, I got my score up to a 2260. So I’d DEFINITELY recommend taking the blue book practice tests: they helped me tremendously. Plus they’re a little harder than the actual test so it’s good practice. By that I mean, on the blue book tests my score range was typically under 2150, but on the actual test I scored 110 points above the top of the range they gave me, and found the questions MUCH easier.

I took the SAT for the first time in Oct, and I got a 2060…

CR: 700
W: 700
M: 660

So I guess my Math scores are so low because of the harsher curve? I hope so…

I’m a junior, so I plan on taking the SAT again… any suggestions on how to improve my Math? And, will the top colleges see the low math score as a negative? What I want to know is, with a score like mine, which are the colleges that I can apply to… Help will be appreciated. :)
