So what's good about UCLA?

<p>There are alot of things of good things at LA, many of them which I discovered AFTER coming here…</p>

<p>Things I love about LA:
-campus is gorgeous (red brick really gives it a classy feel which touts its reputation as an elite world class university) and only 1/2 the size of other UC’s which makes walking to class not such a pain in the a$$.
-ample amount of school PRIDE!! I don’t think I’ve ever been to another university that had it’s students tout THAT much school pride.
-UCLA Ronald Reagen Hospital is ranked very highly probably one of the best if not THE best hospital on the west coast. (This is one of the reasons you should be pre-med here.) There are alot of opportunities for research/internships/volunteer.
-the dorm food is BOMBBB!! not gonna lie… I’m gonna miss it so much when I move off campus next year.
-Lots of places to party/go out/ and shop here. There are so many beaches, shopping malls, and lots of fun exciting events to do here.
-Alot celebrities are spotted on campus or in westwood area, since my time here (two quarters) I’ve seen justin timberlake, jessica biel, robert pattison, adam sandler, girl from 90210, cast of greek, how i met your mother… and more i can’t think of right now.
-NEXT to beverly hills… literally (Rodeo drive is like 5 min drive from campus). The south end of campus faces the entrance gate to BEL AIR.
-really legit/huge Greek scene if you’re into that. The houses are all reallyyy nice and there are so many frats/sororities here if that’s your thing (I wasn’t but I’m sure alot of people are :). I know many UC campuses the greek scene isn’t very established but def. not here.
-movie premieres in westwood village
-fun/active/lively/hyper atomosphere here.
-UCLA basketball!!
-more I can’t think of right now.</p>

<p>Dislikes:
-too many people everywhere (but I guess this is a big city and it’s inevitable)
-I wish the campus was bigger. it’s feel too crowded sometimes.
-too hilly. I don’t want to have to feel like I play for UCLA when climbing up those hills!
-rude students. especially some pre-meds… they are incredibly cutthroat and will do anything to get the grade (really irritating sometimes)
-a bit too superficial.
-alot of UCLA studnets are really pretty well-off so they can pretty ******y sometimes. -I think UCLA attracts rich students (out of the UC-system) because its area and also the glamor and pristine image of the campus.
-air is polluted. allergy sufferers should be aware!!! I was one… :(</p>

<p>The weather is better than Berkeley.</p>

<p>But, are the dorms really better? 3 freshman in a 9 x 12 room is my idea of h*ll. I lived in one of those rooms with 2 people and it was bad enough.</p>

<p>Berkeley is doing the 3-people-in-a-double thing, but at least those rooms are roughly 13 x 14.</p>

<p>I think Berkely is more unique. And, I just never fit into LA.</p>

<p>But, as I’ve said a couple of times–visit both and go the one that makes you happier. Both schools have pros and cons.</p>

<p>otheretc: no the dorms aren’t better. if anything, I think worse… 3 people in a tiny little dorm cell = not my idea of comfort.</p>
