when applying to law school right out of college are you supposed to apply the year before you wish to enter, just like undergrad admissions?

like if you want to apply for entrance for the term beginning Fall 2009, you would apply in 2008, correct? if so, you will have only 3 1/2 years (send in semester grades for senior year?) to show... will this put you at a disadvantage to those who have 4 full years to show?

this may seem like a weird question, but i just wanted to know.

I just applied and had all my grades up until Jr. year count. Unlike with undergrad you don't get a contract where you agree to hold your GPA even (which is a surprise) they only really care that you'll have a degree by the end of the year.

they don't care about the fourth year at all if you're applying straight out of college? but if you wait 2 years and then apply they do care about the fourth year, correct?

wait this seems weird because wouldn't a lot of kids GPA drop a lot fourth year if they knew all they had to do was have a really good GPA the first three years thus bringing down the average GPA of the accepted applicant stat that colleges have? or do they just count that GPA as through the first three years? i think i poorly worded that question...
