Born in Brooklyn, lived in Rockland County, NY for most of my life. My favorite thing about this thread is all the people from all over the world AND someone from my little county in New York. haha. :D

haha, I just checked my cities wikipedia, and besides being a boring middle to upper middle class town, I found out some interesting things! who knew?
haha
we apparently have lots of cool people from here. A lot of directors/writers; and it says Mick Jagger bought a house here. That's pretty cool. I actually know of a lot of people not on there though
--Back Street Boys manager lived 2 houses down from me until a few years ago
--Friend's father is involved in the management of Fergie, The Veronicas, etc.
--Another friend's father manages Korn, and has won 3 Grammy's
--Derek Jeter SUPPOSEDLY bought a house
--The Kays, the owners of Kay Jewler's ("a kiss from kay"), live here
--Owner of NY Rangers lived on our street at one point, and when they won the Stanley Cup, let all the kids from our development come to their house to see it
--Hayden Panettiere lives around here. She goes to my bff's dance class.

Born in Point Pleasant, NJ. Live in Monmout County NJ aka the "Jersey Shore". It is terrible. Yes, I do know Bruce Springsteen. He is very nice.

We're pretty much the lost part of NYC. We do have some notable residents and "The Godfather," one of my favorite movies, was flimed here. My father's music teacher is actually in the movie as one of the musicians in the wedding scene.

You mean Long Island City, right? If so, I guess it's pretty close. Brooklyn is in between Staten Island and Queens, so it isn't exactly right next to where I live.

I've been to NYC in this summer, and as u might guess, had a 'worse' experience. 'small' houses can be rented as cheap as $'1600'!! Well, anyway, I guess Staten Island is not THAT costly and not THAT conjested!

"I guess Staten Island is not THAT costly and not THAT conjested!"

Staten Island is the least populated borough and is mostly surburban. However, it is getting more and more crowded. While the rest of the city is growing at a slow rate or not at all, the population of Staten Island is getting larger rather quickly. There are always new houses being built. It's getting pretty ridiculous.
