So, where exactly is Ithaca?

why does it appear so blurred on Google Earth? for practically any other location i check, it seems to in focus.

Most smaller towns and cities in more rural areas are blurred like that. Not all are though (for instance Midland, TX is clear).

Thanks for ALL the responses.

This is kind of random but when I fly from Atlanta to Syracuse, we pass over Ithaca. It actually looks pretty cool and Cornell stands out since it's on the hill. I can see the Engineering Quad, Stadium, Clock Tower, and High Rises... anyway...

i hear jetblue doesn't go to the nearby airport..which is a total bummer. anyone here travel by plane from nyc? and if so, care to include the 411?

I think the direct flights are from PHL and perhaps LGA into Ithaca. It's not easy to schedule flights. Other options are to fly to Syracuse or Binghamton.

that would be pointless. you'd still have to pay lot$$ to get a cab to drive you into ithaca for over an hour.

There are some shuttles from Syracuse to Ithaca. I think there's a lot of info on cornell.edu -- check out visiting cornell. Every single time I think I should just fly in ... it's way too complicated, expensive, and time-consuming for what I have in mind, and I either drive up from Connecticut or just give up the idea.

A favorite bumper sticker of ours is: "Ithaca is 10 square miles surrounded by reality." :)

hahaha....i like that ^^ :}
