My final list of acceptances is:

UF
UCF Jazz
Rollins
Vassar
Colgate

I was wary of the last two because of my finances, but my dad told me to pick without thinking of money and said we will make it work out.

Presently, my top choice is Colgate. I want to go through the core, but I think I'll end up doing economics. After undergrad I want to do the normal work for a firm for a while, then go back to get my MBA.

I like Colgate because of it's location (Hamilton is BEAUTIFUL), D1 sports (can't wait to watch hockey games... an experience I've missed out on here in FL), and the general "feel" of the student body. I'm visiting on the 10th and 11th, so hopefully that will reassure myself about it.

Vassar is interesting. I like that it's in a little more of a town. But I'm not sure if many business people come from Vassar. And I know being a male that I'll get jokes later in life. Vassar also seems a little too liberal for my liking.

UF Is way too big. I've pretty much ruled it out, even though it's free.

UCF jazz is a great program where I'd get paid 10k a year over tuition to go there, but I simply don't want to pursue music professionally.

Rollins is a great local school (only 30 minutes away). It is a strong liberal arts school with a decent business program. I'd be close to home and it would be quite a bit more affordable than Colgate. That being said, I don't think it can even begin to measure up to the alumni network of Colgate.

I really think Colgate will be the best for me, even if it's also the most expensive. My history teacher told me that a lot of maturing goes on when you can't just drive for 30 minutes and be home to do laundry. I am also ready for a change of scenery... and weather. The nation-wide recognition of Colgate is also a big deal for me. I'd hate to work for 4 years and then only have my institution recognized in the south.

So any reasons why i shouldn't go to colgate?
