So which schools offer big national merit scholarships?

By big I mean the level of full-tuition and the like.

So far I got mail from Arizona State, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, UOklahoma, Westminster (UT), and Tulsa. Any other schools?

USC gives half tuition

Few that a national merit scholar would want to go to. USC is the best I've heard.

Univ Central Florida, UAlabama are two others I've gotten. Can't think of any others off the top of my head.

Boston U and U Florida offer pretty hefty scholarships.

USC also does full tuition, not just half-tuition.

are you guys talking semi-finalist, finalist, or scholar?

Usually it's always about the finalist status.

Westminster gives a half tuition scholarship for semi-finalists though.

Oh for the National Merit thing? Sorry, I was mistaken. USC just gives half-tuition for that. If you're that competitive though, you might be considered for a full-tuition scholarship, so it's still vaguely relevant =).

Man, why does USC have to in LA, and a pretty bad part of it too?

<mutters></mutters>

Denison has 30 full tuition scholarships available for NMF. Still have to come up with room and board.

I heard that you are likely to get tuition room and board at U Mass Amherst with a National Merit Scholarship?

be sure and talk to students in the scholarship program to be sure the school has renewed the scholarship each year at the full level. I've heard that some schools offer generous aid to attract strong students, but then whittle it down year-by-year since it becomes harder to leave. One school I've seen mentioned as doing this is in posts on this page, but since I don't have time to search for the posts reporting this I'm not going to mention any names.

Any more schools?
