so who applied, and where are you from?

San Jose, CA :)

San Jose, CA.

orange county

I want to be waaaarrrrmmmm :)

San Jose area

my d is from Carlsbad, CA...northern San Diego County

fun thread! this is one of USC's attractive features vs UCLA...geographic diversity

I guess diversity is a relative term... over 3/4 of USC alumni live in California today, and my guess is that most of them lived in California before, as well.

near Boston, MA

Just 30 minutes northwest of the ATL, y'all!

California isn't like New Jersey or something, though. It's like a massive state, over half the west coast. On the east coast that would be like 5 or six different states. The population is gigantic. I would consider it geographic diversity even if 1 kid came from LA, one from San Francisco, one from Davis. All from California, but definitely not all "from the same place".

Canada, and:

:D

30 minutes from Seattle, Washington.

20 minutes from USC. :)

Edit: Is bluebeard still checking this thread? Man, I despise that Evelyn character. Same facial expression, like D:<

What's she like IRL?

yeah i'm still here. are you talking to me about Evelyn? i'm kinda lost on this one.

but still 3/4 of the entire alumni population (after all, USC is the oldest university in California) coming from a concentration equivalent to five states is pretty skewed, isn't it? Most private universities have a more evenly distributed geographic diversity.

I'm not disagreeing with you in the meat of your comment-- I am quite aware that LA is a different world from Silicon Valley.

Only about half of the students at USC are from within CA. The 3/4 is a misleading number since it neglects all the people who are from outside CA who stay here after graduation, for whatever reason

(it makes sense, if you take internships in california while in school, for many people to continue those internships into jobs)

Plus, USC has like the largest population of international students in the US.

Las Vegas!

Oooooklahoma!

Illinooooois!

orange county :)
