So, who else runs?

I met another runner on here, someone who's from the same state than i am. who else runs cross country/track?

I’m thinking about doing track his year if i don’t make the soccer team, but as for cross county. hells naw. It’s way too hard over here. You have to run 6-7 miles a day for practice.

I run…

From the cops.

JK.

I love to run, although my passion is for sprinting, not long distance running.

6-7 miles isn’t too bad haha that’s like a 60 minute run, really really slow haha. i know some people who put in ten miles on long runs : )

bigkev: mine too! i’m a 200/400 girl.

I don’t do track/cross-country, but I do run between 25-30 miles/week.

I’ve never even seen a .5 girl.

what’s a .5?

^Like the distances were a fraction, so 200 divided by 400

It was so bad I feel ashamed to have done it :/

An hour to do 6-7 miles? You guys are doing it wrong. A 7 mile run should take at most 49 minutes, on an easy day. On a good day, 42 minutes (or faster).

But it’s a lot more interval stuff in season. Like 1200 hundred repeats.

I’m not a runner though… I’m a racer! :P

I ran cross country in the fall and would do track this spring, but I play soccer.

I love to run, especially long-distance. Unfortunately, I’ve had some issues with injuries - like right now - and I’m thinking that when I get to college in the fall I’m going to get some winter bike tires and switch to cycling. Running is just too high-impact.

I hate running, which is partially the reason why I didn’t play football during my senior year. I prefer to lift and do some cardio on the rowing machines or just do some laps on the treadmill in between lifts to keep in shape.

oh haha now i get what a .5 is. @hahalolk, i was injured this season so i was running a pretty slow pace, 10 minute miles. I’m capable of a 7 minute mile when i’m not injured.

I see. But you probably should never be doing 10 minute miles because that’s just bad for your form. You’d be much better off on an elliptical for keeping in shape.

i’m a sprinter haha naturally good form, thank goodness. you’re completely right though, either step up the pace or don’t do it at all. i’m so glad to be healed up, so ready for outdoor track.

Hurdler here. 100 hurdles are kind of the best/prettiest/most fun race. :)

so jealous that you can hurdle, i tried it, yeah stubby legs don’t work well for that haha, all power to you!
