Who here knows something about Hopkins' HONORS LEVEL Single Variable Calculus Class?

I was thinking about taking this class first semester next year [i will be a freshman], I got a 5 on Calc BC, but don't really remember any of the stuff...lol...is this class a good, accelerated refresher for Calc I and II?

Also, I plan to take HONORS LEVEL Multi var. Calc II (2nd semester) anyway...

oh, btw, I'm an Engineering double major :)

I can't tell you about honors single variable because I took regular calc 2 for engineers but in the spring semester of my freshmen year I took Honors multivariable, I would highly recommend it. The class size is much smaller so there is more discussion and generally the curve is easier than in regular classes, well depending on the professor.

I actually have the textbook for 110.113 although I did not take the class. The book, which is by Spivak, is a challenging book. Many of the problems are proofs and very few of the calculations are just plug-and-chug. Honors Multivariable, I definitely recommend. The class is not "small", but it is not nearly as large as 110.202. Wilkin is teaching it next semester. I had him for Honors Linear Algebra last semester. He does a good job with the material, but his tests are somewhat challenging. But his curve is pretty fair. And in case you're interested, they use Colley's book, which in my opinion, is very good.

^hmmm, well I'm generally every good at Math (5 on the Calc BC SATI/SATII, ACT, etc.)

I think it will be a good "refresher" for me, and besides i LOVE math, so I'll have fun in the class ;)

thanks guys!!!

the class was small, 20 people is a small class
