Lord of the Flies is depressing in that it presents a view of the primitive and savage nature of humans, but it is well written and, in my opinion, extremely fascinating. The interactions between the boys and the rapid decay of morals display the rotten nature of humanity that is covered up and decorated, especially when placed in context with the time period in which the boys lived in. Although the boys exhibit extreme degrees of evil, their actions are simply a representation of innocence lost. The decline into savageness is not due to the incapability of youth but instead the innate instincts of every human. I know that my analysis is very brief, but seriously you guys, I don’t know why people display so much animosity towards such an awesome book.
