So who's actually going?

So ya, I've heard many people proudly claim that they got into UCSC; but most of them also said that they actually plan on going somewhere else. So I ask: Who is going to follow me to UCSC?

Very likely

Very, very likely!

Very, very very likely!!

Aww, Charisma, don't feel bad. I'm happy because this is the opening salvo in "big fat envelope" season, and it would be cool to have son named a Regents' Scholar, but other than that, every other school would have to reject him, from Stanford on down to Kenyon, and I don't see that happening.

But it is still cool, because it's a safety he's always been happy about.

Now I dont know which college in UCSC to choose! I hear college 9 and crown are good. Kresgie has the best dorms. Does anyone have any info anything of this matter?

Isn't kresigie mostly for upperclassmen?

I most likely will.
I doubt i'll get accepted by UCLA esp. since I didn't get accepted to UCD.

I received the big envelope today, on the outside it says "UC Santa Cruz YOUR Universite. The inside admission letter is actually frameable -- it looks like a diploma, with my name in Germanic lettering. Very, very cool. The more I think about it, the more I like UCSC. The last time we took a tour my mom went to get a parking pass and the lady at the parking place even remembered her from last summer. Now THAT's chill.

I'm probably going! mostly because i can't afford private school.... but i'm way excited for UCSC!

hye345 - Kresge is for EVERYONE, just like all the other colleges. There is no distinction between majors/class level/etc in each college. Kresge is unique because their housing is apartment style only while the others are mixed dorms/apartments. The only way to get an apartment as a frosh is at Kresge.

I'm going!

We should all have a CC get together after everyone settles in.

Sounds good, critic. I'm heading up in a couple of weeks (third time) to look at each of the colleges during the expanded tour weeks.

I still havent visited the place (I live in LA, and it is over 5 hours away). How is the area?

If I say in CA, it's Santa Cruz for me :)

the area is BEAUTIFUL, ive been to the town a couple times and the campus once. The town is really cute, and the campus is huge and has lots of trees and grassy space. im going up again for the "experience sc" tours, does anyone know if theres a difference between those tours and the regular tours?

i'm probably going...i got accepted into ucr also. but i doubt i want to go there.

i have a chance at UCI, let's see if they will accept me..i got rejected by ucd too :/ sigh

so alright. i'm going to UCSC for sure

hope to see some of you there! haha
we should exchange info ;)

Same here. I just submitted my SIR today and will be touring the campus today (4/3) @ 2:00 pm. Those who are going to UCSC, let's exchange info!
