While all the Ivy hopefuls (dreamers) are asking for their chances at their respective threads, we can start our own, people planning to apply Mac post your name, sex, location, ED/RD, stats if you want to...

jdelavalle/Male/Florida(Colombian citizen)/probably ED II

I know they arent offering them in Florida, but they offer them in some states. Im going to an interview on campus in a couple of weeks... you might want to check their web site and look this up.

From Singapore and am considering applying ED to Mac. Just think it may be a bit of a long shot. My parents can probably only come up with 14000 a year so I need Financial aid. What do y think?

Actually I will be applying ED elsewhere not because the other school is my first choice or to have a better chance at a reach school, but simply b/c it has better FinAid. Im probably going to apply ED to Penn, which is probably close to Macs level in my college list, but not definetely not above it. The only school I would really turn down Mac for would be Georgetown, but I dont like my chances... lol, im pretty sure most of us are going to end up in Mac somehow.

Im attracted at Macs diverse student body. I also love that it is a small school in a big town, as great an education and as exclusive as it gets. I love the school's philosophy and their commitment to internationalism, and nothing beats a liberal arts education. My only drawback is the Minnesota winter since I live in South Florida, but thats also an issue in most schools in the northeast.

I just got interested in mac and love the internationalism too...the only problem is picking a major or two or three...I too live in Florida(but the boring northern part) and hope to visit sometime this fall, though plane tickets can be expensive. Ive never been near Minnesota so that should be interesting...

I'm applying! Regular decision though, which means that the only way I'll be attending Mac is if I get rejected from my ED school(either Wesleyan or Vassar), which I hope not!

Things I like about Mac: its diversity, lots of international students, nice location, good academics.

I'll be at Mac this fall, and I'm currently living in Texas! I'll let you know how the winter is ;)

Anyway, the area around Mac is great. I was a bit worried about Minnesota initially, but Mac's location is excellent. It is in an upscale residential neighborhood in an area of town with a lot of little eccentric cafes and shops.

Ive been doing my college visits for the past two weeks, but I havent had the chance to visit Mac yet. Im ying to go, I love everything Ive heard of the school. It seems like a perfect fit for me...

I'll definitely be applying to Mac, i got plenty of colleges on my list, and i know i'll have to narrow it down, but Mac is staying.

Where else is everyone applying? I'm looking at Bowdoin, Bates, Colby (Maine Schools), Mac, Carleton (Minn), and Swarthmore for the most part, with a few other colleges that are maybes.

I'm from Los Angeles, California, Male, and i'll probably be applying RD. The main problem is, i can't find a school that i definitely want to apply ED to. Because my parents don't want to pay much for college, but i doubt i'd get a good fin. aid package. If anyone knows of some good schools of great caliber (like the ones i've mentioned) that have great merit aid, that would be awesome.

I'll be applying to Mac RD... still not sure about my final list, but something like this: Grinnell, middlebury, bates, carleton (possibly..not sure) american u, clark u
ED most likely to midd
