So...who's paying?

My tuition and housing is about $43k per year. I didn't get any financial aid, so my parents are paying for tuition and housing out-of-pocket, and I'll pay them back half of it, in installments, once I graduate. I'm paying for all my books and other expenses from the money I make from my summer job (about $4200 per summer).

heh my parents pay for everything too...=P lucky me

Mom paying tuition for 1st year at JC (bleh), books, supplies. But when I eventually transfer I pay for everything (tuition, housing, food, side expenses), but my mom agreed to pay for supplies, books, laptop for all 4 years because she thinks I will desperately need all that extra spending cash I earn from jobs.

I am paying for all tuition, books, etc. Since I transferred and became a commuter my mom pays for the car I drive, but my parents had bought the car before I decided to transfer. My parents have since separated and I live with my mom who pays for car and our apartment. I will have around $42,000 in private and federal loan debt for 5 years of undergraduate schooling (mechanical engineering). I transferred from an Ivy League to a low tuition out-of-state school that is cheaper than many of my in-state schools. It is actually more expensive for me at the state school since I receive no grant aid and few scholarships. Plus, instead of living in a dorm I drive 200+ miles per week to commute at 20 mpg max. Gas costs add up. I use my summer internship earnings to pay for gas, cell phone, and other things. And today I got a student security job on campus in addition to my paid research to help ease the gas price shock.

I'm getting pay. I'm on bright future, grants, and other scholarship that makes my tuition fund "sufficient" enough for me to get at least a thousand back in my pocket.

Being a GATOR rocks

Parents pay the tuition, room & board and I get a small allowance. I pay them $5000 a year because they want me to "feel some pain" financially. That mostly comes from summer jobs.

From Freshman year I have about 2.75k in loans. This year I will have 10.5k in loans and it'll probably be the same Junior and Senior year. Books and all day to day expenses are picked up by my summer job. I would've almost considered state school if I knew I'd be 40k+ in debt out of undergrad, but my dad decided to get cheap only this 2nd year (made 120k last year and is giving me only 6k) and I don't have the heart to ask my mom for more since I know she's struggling as is (parents are divorced, live with mom).

My college is. A got a full ride because of academics plus I got free tuition a second time since my dad works there. So the extra money from the second tuition is going towards stuff like books and other little expensives and the rest in the bank. :)

I got a few small scholarships from high school clubs and such. A sizeable percentage of my tuition is being paid by my rich uncle and aunt :D (no, i'm not jk), plus my parents are paying too. And I have a campus job to cover books and small expenses.

Bank of ND loan

loans loans and more loans. My parents help me out some with living expenses. I also get a grant that helps out some with tuition, books, rent, and general fees......that helps a lot, but the bulk of the $$ I get is loans. I pay my own cell phone, DSL, and landline bills.

I've got a job for now so my parents pay for tuition and residence and I pay for books, travel expenses and I earn my pocket money.

Seems like I'm the only person who is paying for all the fees myself.

My parents said they'd pay whatever it cost for me to go to the state uni, and if I decide to attend anywhere else (they know I will - obviously if I end up attending state they will make me pay for some of it), I need to cover any other fees.

For my top choices we're talking me paying $12,000+ a sememster! Ha...

Yeah so my college is paying for everything. The only things I've had to pay for so far has been laundry, some supplies from the bookstore and going out with my girlfriend, all of which is pretty much covered by what I make doing work-study.

Gotta love scholarships :) I know my parents do, they are actually saving money on college because they don't have to pay for my food.

1200 from loans each semester, the rest is out of pocket (about 2100). I pay as much as I can and my parents pick up the rest.

I have been unemployed for a few months (I applied everywhere but no one wants me) so my parents have been picking up my cell phone and insurance. But I have some bites from Raising Cane's (a kick butt locally owned fast food place that will be in your town in the near future), so I may start earning money soon. Cable, phone, and internet is included in housing, as is the 900$ for the meal plan.
