D in California got her wait listed letter today. It was a very nice letter that complimented her accomplishments and strongly encouraged her to reserve her spot on the wait list. It is the only rejection she has received so far and if they are all that kindly stated, we'll be lucky! she had almost exactly the same stats to Kecantu but her SAT score was 1820 w/ an ACT score of 29. Good luck to all others!

Should mention for info purposes that she had strong essays, with EC's that showed commitment (i.e., 4 years of varsity track), came from a private all-girls Catholic school, and strong community service hours.

calcaitsmom,

If your D still really wants to attend Pepperdine, I would suggest that she reserves her place on the waitlist, as well as send a passionate letter stating why she wants to attend.

There will be many accepted applicants who decide to go elsewhere, so putting a personal touch on her situation can only help her out.

Best of luck with your D's college selection process!

BTW - no word yet here in Ohio :-(

have all the letters already been sent out? I havent heard anything yet in PA.

I got my acceptance yesterday, but I'm in soCal, so I most likely got it before the everyone else.... they're on the way if nothin else!

Good luck!

No word yet in Minnesota, I expect it to come in a couple of days.

I have an 1890 and strong religious activity....I am a Jehovah's Witness, could this help me get in to expand the schools relgious diversity??

Maybe, but I think it would account for an incredibly small part of your admission decision.

To those who have been accepted....did it come in a packet? I know this is a dumb question, but I want to be able to tell by a quick glance.

The acceptance letter was in an 8.5 x 11 envelope... but it only had a few pieces of paper in it; no housing stuff or thick information packet.

KM, what were ur SATS and GPA?

-GPA is a 4.4 w and 4.0 uw
-ACT score of 31, didn't do as well on the SAT- 1900 w/ highest SAT 2 score of 720
-top 5% of class, HS doesn't do class rank
-lots of community serive and 3 varsity sports-also in church youth group
-I think my recs were strong- I didn't read any of them, but my AP Spanish teacher that wrote one only does 5 a year, so she did a good job

I was kinda worried about one of my short essays because of the topic... but I guess the readers saw my humor and didn't take it as offensive, so I was glad about that

Rock on sister

wow your stats are great!!

I just got my letter way up here in Minnesota. It came in a package with a few pieces of paper.

My D also received her acceptance packet today, with an invitation to visit the campus on the 8th.

Congrats Cincinatti dad! And the rest of you!

I just received my official acceptance letter as well and I was also offered a scholarship that I certainly didn't expect. I don't know what kind of criteria this decision was based on, but my stats were definitely not that great to justify one.

did the scholarship information come with the acceptance letter? congrats!

My D was also accepted and we will be attending the reception on 4/8. I have heard a couple of people mention scholarships. We received the acceptance letter but no financial information. I spoke to a gnetleman in the Financial Aid area this week and he said financial information would be coming out next week. Do they not all come at the same time.

Another qquestion if anyone knows, when do you as new students meet with a counselor to select freshman classes?

Congratulations to all of you students accepted to Pepperdine. I know I am very proud of my daughter in that she has worked hard in school and it is now paying off with this acceptance. You all deserve a pat on the back. Now back to studying!
