Do colleges leave spaces open for transfers, regardless of number of freshman applicants, or will the abundance of freshman and the length of those waitlists leave pretty much no room for transfer applicants?

The transfer list at all of my three choices is above 1,000. What the hell?

If you read the college websites for transfers, a lot of them state that they reserve a certain number of spots for transfers each year due to the "value" they believe transfer students bring to their college community. They never state exactly how many they reserve, though.

really? how'd you find that information? what three schools did you apply to? i didn't know schools released transfer info for this year already.

@liz, most colleges do reserve spaces, but on occasion, they will make a judgment mistake on how many freshmen will matriculate (see Stanford).

yea, i felt like i remembered reading that they saved spaces on some college's info. i just really hope they won't decide to save lessss spaces now...
