Hey guys, i've been skulking around for a while, and i have a bit of a dilemma;

i kinda wanted to ask this girl at my school to prom (even though I don't talk to her much, just the occasiona, Hey, what's up) and this other girl (who i don't really like at all..sorry for the bluntness, but she is a b****) just asked me to go with her.

Now I can't really say I'm not going to Prom and just ask the other girl that I want to ask, cause that totally sucks; but i really dont want to go to my Prom with the girl that asked me.

So, my question: how do I say no without coming off as a complete a-hole?

lol, can't do it tomorrow cause of AP Bio...earliest I will see the girl who asked me is Tuesday morning, so I don't have enough time to ask whom I want to ask...

Well in that case, lie and say you're going with the one you want to go with. If she ends up saying no and you still go to prom and the other girl confronts you, say you ended up changing your plans...

Uh, tell the truth. It happened to me. (Well, I tend to believe I'm not a total b--) He just told me "sorry, no but I kinda wanted to go with "----". "

okay, another (though related) question; if my prom is May 26 (hehe procrastination ftw), do i really need a tux, or is a suit all right? The theme is 'Vintage Hollywood'... if that's at all helpful

i guess it depends on your school. out of 200 some odd guys that went to ours, mabey 5 didn't wear tuxs.

also when you rent the tux, you don't have to care if it gets messed up. my tux was pretty much ruined after prom, and am glad it wasn't a nice suit.

Just tell her that you have someone else in mind. Truthfully, I don't think it's the excuse that matters. If she decides to dislike you after you reject her, she'll dislike you, regardless of what you tell her.

You can't say no without coming off like a complete a-hole to the girl who got up her nerve to ask you to the prom. So just tell her the truth and move on. Good luck with Girl #1.

Truth be told, I'm actually having the suit vs. tuxedo dilemma myself. Parents just bought me a new suit and are convinced I should wear it to prom. Obviously, I told them it's customary to wear a tux; they claim I'll fit in anyways. This is yet another reason I probably won't be going...

I doubt most people could tell the difference between a nice suit + a tux. Just make sure you get a vest, then you'll probably be able to easily pass off wearing a suit...
