The music department is actually spread into two facilities. There is the home [Music Building](Music Building (University of Pittsburgh) - Wikipedia), which is actually a historic former 19th century mansion that also previously served as the first home to the first community-sponsored television station in the US and was also held the first studio for Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. The second major music facility is [Bellefield Hall](Bellefield Hall - Wikipedia), also a historic building, and contains one of the best acoustic concert halls in the city and is where the departments concerts and recitals typically are, although I’m not sure, maybe some are also held in Heinz Chapel or the [Carnegie Music Hall](http://www.carnegiemuseums.org/assets/oak_music_hall_lg.jpg) which is across the street. (I know they have the annual Jazz Seminar in the Carnegie Music Hall, which is just georgious). Bellefied Hall also has departmental rehearsal spaces, classrooms, graduate student offices, and the a digital recording studio. I don’t know if they emphasized to you that Bellefield also served as a home to the department, so I thought I’d let you know just in case.
