Hi everyone,

I’m an incoming sophmore in high school and currently taking the “So You Want to Be a Doctor” Summer Course at Brown. I took it because I honestly do have a passion in pursuing a career in the medical field but I still wanted to ask by taking this course will it increase my chances to be accepted into an Ivy League?

No.

Really the grades you make, your recommendations, your test scores, and your essay are what will or won’t get you in. That course only is a little bit of showing that you have interest in something to pursue it, and the money to do that, (or had a scholarship). Passionate pursuit of an extracurricular will “count” a lot more than things you can sign up for and be “led through”.
