My parents are reading it. That and Cobra II. And Dad just bought American Theocracies. I want Johnny K. to read that one...

Yeah, it seems out of place...

Just a tad. Ha, he added "just kidding"

Now that I think about it, Justinian needs to read American Theocracies.

HUZZAH! Would it not be great if America were governed via a theocracy. That would be the life!

Okay, I'm going to refrain from blasting you with my opinion. You're welcome.

yay! i finished one of the essays!

The Count of Monte Cristo (Dumas)
Les Miserables (Hugo)

unabridged? ;)

lets hope not

I still have not read the book I was supposed to read for English...

which is?

We have to read The Good Earth for acadec.. I'm not too excited. I read a few reviews and it seems pretty boring. I'm probably going to end up reading it 4-5 times. ICK.

Also, I have an independent reading project due I think in a week and I haven't even gotten the book yet. I'm a little bit ashamed that I don't care.

It isn't bad per se.

But Pearl Buck needed to learn to use commas instead of the word "and" twenty times in a sentance. You'll see what I mean. It's pretty damn good, though, when you get past the fact that it moves slower than cold molasses.

wow that's terrible..although my summer's not looking too promising either (gov school, volunteer work, mad summer assignments-you know how it is).

The only summer book for honors junior english was The Eyre Affair and a 3-5 page response.

This year, for AP, we have to read some book and watch some movie, not sure what, and complete a project..plus AP Chem, Bio, and USH have summer assignments

My English teacher assigned me a book to read that is out of print. That is insane. I hate her now.

It's all due Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gah.

how much might be left? your lit teacher doesn't seem to understand that all that crap isn't necessary. we get a book to read and have 1 essay/paper on it OR we have a test on it...one or the other.

I still have to do the biographical sketch of the author, some readers' logs, a third of the summary, six more vocab words, works cited, the appendix "creative" crap and type everything. I'm working as hard as I know how- I just spent three hours in the public library. Of course, I could get off of CC, but in some strange way it helps me concentrate-- a short typing break every so often helps keep my mind on task so it doesn't wander.

I read Edith Hamilton's Mythology in grade 9, so I remember a lot of it. What she is doing is nearly everything we did in class and at home...in a month.

luckily i have a talker for my lit teacher--she discusses it all and doesn't believe in lots of grades and work which sucks only if you do poorly on any of it.
