So...

I made a similar thread earlier, but I've changed the colleges I want to apply to and what I want to do at them.

I'm thinking of applying to these college:

Cornell University (Either this or Reed College I'm going to apply ED)
Reed College
Carnegie Mellon University
John Hopkins University
Boston University
University of Michigan
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
New York University
Rutgers University (safety, as I'm a NJ resident)
Oberlin College
University of Washington

Quite honestly, I have no idea what I want to major in, so I'm going to apply undecided at all of them.

My "stats" are:

SAT I:
M:800
CR:720
W:770

SAT IIs so far:

Math Level 2: 800 (first try as well if they require you to show all of your tries)

-I plan to take Bio (I haven't decided whether E or M), which I will most likely score at least 750

My GPA, however, is 3.3, so that weighs heavily on my resume.

In terms of extracurriculars, I'm taking the IB, so I have CAS to do. I've been participating in various Jazz bands, and more or less started one of the bands this year. I'm also working with a shelter for kids who have been effected by HIV/AIDS called CCDT.

Can anybody tell me my chances at these universities?

Bumpity bump.

you look pretty good. i’d say:

cornell - you have a chance, but i think your gpa is a bit low
reed - don’t know it
carnegie mellon - good chance
JHU - good chance
BU - in
Michigan - in
Illinois - in
NYU - good chance
rutgers - in
oberlin - don’t know it
UW - in

your gpa is a bit low, but everything else looks great

Thanks =). Can anybody else give some feedback too?

Also, spaceneedle, since you say that I’ll be in at 5 of the 11 universities I listed, do you think I should aim a bit higher?

And would anybody think University of Chicago is a possibility?

Or UPenn?

Also, would the fact that I am an expat living in Mumbai increase my chances at any of these places on grounds of diversity?

It’s great that HS students are willing to chance each other, but this is another reason it doesn’t make much sense.

You might as well give it a shot with UChicago. As I said before, the only reason i’d think they would look down on you would be your gpa.
