Anyone know if you can get department consent to take a course with a prerequisite while enrolling at SOAR?

The course I need is a lower division major requirement 100 level, and it’s prerequisite for a upper division course 300 level that I want to take. Just wondering if they’ll make an exception or how that works exactly? I’ve emailed the professor to try and get instructor consent but haven’t heard back from her yet. Also I’m an upper division transfer student and I have 4 of the 5 lower division major requirements met.

I have a question. I know a SOAR session is scheduled to start at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM.

Does it really end so late? Is it possible to finish everything by 3:00 PM?

Also my SOAR date is on August 1st, I know that’s pretty late, but will it be impossible to get classes for a major like Chemical Engineering? Thanks.

I think the afternoon of soar is mostly about class signups. I’d already picked mine and had them in my shopping cart, so I was out around 2:30. Other people who hadn’t figured out their schedules stayed longer.

I’ve noticed that as classes fill up they add more, so chances are you’ll be ok.

Thanks Angeleno23! I can’t imagine having to stay there for 9 hours in the heat.

Yeah Screw that! Also does sign ups go any faster if you bring your own laptop? I know on the email they sent us a device capable of connecting to the internet was one of the suggested items to bring.

If they suggested it, I’d bring it. I brought my laptop, but in my soar group there were more computers available than there were students, so I never needed to use mine. Might be different in another group on another day.

does anyone where to pay the soar fee?? i cant find it in the student center

Student center>Admissions tab>Soar sign up>pay remaining balance (or something along those lines if you already signed up for soar)

thank you derangedcorgi!
