Soc132A with Brady

Don't supposed anyone's taken Methods of Social Research with David Brady before? I want to get a sense of what that class will be like before I actually take it and an idea of the amount of time I need to devote it. I've seen his ratings on ratemyprof but there's only one regarding that class and they tend to vary widely in their opinions of him.

If not, then feel free to let this thread die. Thanks

This was definately not the thread I expected to see when I signed in to this site after not being here since before I was admitted. Anyway...I took 132A. It wasn't bad, but you need to do the reading. I think he makes the tests long in order to create a grade distribution. Basically, he thinks making a test longer is the same as making a test harder. It is moderately easy to get an A assuming you read the material. As far as Brady, I personally thought we was annoying. He treats students like it is high school. There is a seating chart and he takes attendance. Assuming you are a sociology major, it is a required class so you have to take it anyway. Not something to avoid though.

I'm not a sociology major. I'm taking the class because:

1) I need a W course

2) It fits my time slot

3) It's not one of those crazy writing courses

4) I heard it's not that bad

Thanks for the feedback though.
