yeah the Los Angeles area reception took place at Pasadena City College.

well one of the questions about FA that was interesting was what is considered on campus housing and off campus housing.
apparently at Berkeley even if you are housed as on campus (like the wada apartments) it is not considered on campus. ( i was like w t f?) you have to have a meal plan for it to be considered on campus and only the dorms are considered on campus.

k cool things you can do on the FA website…change your on campus/off campus status and your package will be arranged accordingly…you can also change how much you want in loans to how much you want in work study and vice versa. (like for example i have to come up with $4000…i can dictate that i want $2500 in work study and the rest in loans…and i can do all that on the FA website)

lets see…another FA question…k on the new FA website (we are the first class to use it! they just put it up in March!) there are a bunch of kinks they haven’t worked out yet…so that is why sometimes your package looks different…don’t worry they are fixing it.

just some basic questions were answered, like i said i wasn’t impressed and it was just meh…but this info was kinda cool to hear again just for reassurance.

arcadefire-no way don’t dress up!!! hahahaha i had the same dilemma and didnt know the etiquette so I was debating going semi-formal or in jeans and a shirt.

i asked Evie baby what i should do and he said…go with jeans and a shirt!

thank you Evie baby, best advice last night. hahahaha

AND maybe you get different questions asked/answered or information so please tell us what you thought about it :)

Yeah, I missed the Pasadena one. I’m thinking about going to the one in Costa Mesa tonight, but it seems like the reception isn’t anything special… :

I went. Enjoyed Walter Robinson’s speech & the cookies. It was a cute event. Very welcoming. Saw a LOT of PCC students (I’m from PCC). Yeah, the Q&A w/the students wasn’t very helpful, and I wish there had been more representatives from L&S. There was one, and she was swarmed.

Learned that the youngest transfer is 15 & the oldest is 65(?). Not too sure.

I went to the Costa Mesa event tonight. All in all, they gave good information, but it was all info you could’ve found on their website or here. The student Q&A was useless, haha. I wish they could have organized the L&S booth in a way that they had a separate room w/ seats or something- the hallway was too loud and a hoard of people were huddled over the one table they had.

Going to the events makes me excited to go to Berkeley, but as for actual useful information it is kind of pointless. You can easily find all the info online.
