My son wants to attend an academically challenging school with a strong Division III soccer program. Does anyone have information about the Carleton Men's Soccer team? How well do athletes and non-athletes mix? Son's h.s. friends are mostly non-athletes with other interests.

I hope someone else can chime in here. About all I can tell you is that Carleton does not have an "athletic dorm", so there is definitely mixing of athletes and non-athletes.

living in minnesota, i can give a general idea. at Carleton it seems as though the students are very friendly and that mixing between 'groups' so to speak is common. It seems as though people are very friendly, and laid-back. I know a guy in my class who's extremely good at soccer (also recruited DI at Green Bay) who was recruited down at Carleton. This person has done several years of ODP, and playing at the Premier level. I think Carleton's team does pretty well. It is supposedly a competitive conference for men's soccer, but at the same time not nearly as competitive as DI of course. hope that helps a little :)
