Does MIT have a soccer team. If so, how can I get in contact with the coach and would that improve my chances at all.

The main webpage is here: http://mitathletics.collegesports.com/sports/m-soccer/mit-m-soccer-body.html and the recruit form is here: http://web.mit.edu/athletics/www/varsity/recruit-me.html

The soccer team's pretty good; the season before last they went to the Elite Eight.

I think the consensus around here is that contacting a coach is a good thing, but it's not going to get you in a la DI schools. :)

So what exactly will that recruiting form do?

He can help you get in. I talked about this in some past threads, so search my previous posts.

Yeah but the actual email. That goes to the coach and then does he write a recommendation or what?

That probably goes to the coach. He may write you a rec if he talks to you. You have to talk to him.

the mit coach doesn't go out doing heavy recruiting...so fill out the form, write an email...call him if you want. i remember i wrote him an email at the beginning of the summer and he didn't get back to me until i had already committed to amherst in september, so be proactive with him
