How is it? Especially for someone majoring in Engineering?

I've heard it's so hard people study all the time, and they don't have time to do anything fun, even dating.

Is this true?

Is this true?

I know several Engineering majors who have very active social lives, in relationships (if they choose to pursue them), and very active in student organizations. Some of them also have been accepted into some of the top grad schools, so they must be doing ok.

Cal is hard, but students here are able to find time to do the fun stuff. That’s the beauty of Cal. You get a great education, but you don’t have to sacrifice your social life.

No, people definitely do not study all the time. There are people like that but there are also loads of other types of people. If you want to have fun, you’ll find it. Your experience is up to you and since it’s such a big school, you’ll mostly find what you’re looking for if you try hard enough.

a lot of engineers study 24/7

^Do a lot of biology majors study 24/7 (I’m not pre-med but aiming for grad school)?

yep… lol you have to compete with those premed people. well people don’t study 24/7 (some do) but… umm you’ll probably know how much u need to study to do well… everyone finds their own niche.
