social dorms for incoming freshman?

just wondering what the more social/active halls were?
i'm really excited to meet new people and such and i don't want to end up in some un-spirited boring hall lol
so any suggestions?

Is Beaty a very social dorm? Is there a recreational room on each floor or just one per building?

Broward is definetely the most social dorms. It definetely has the highest percentage of Greeks in anydorm and you will always find people hanging out in the lobby after a night of drinking and partying. Its right next to the Dining Facility and as they said close to the Library and classes. If you wanna study, you can study pretty much anywhere as long as you’re disciplined. It is not nice at all though, but hey, its college, so its not supossed to be. You get used to it.

Rawlings, where I live, compares in niceness to Broward and is right next to it. It is still fairly social, but not as social.

I would recommend one of these two, especially Broward, due to their location/social qualities

Beaty is apartment style, so its not as social, but you get your own kitchen and I think bathroom which is nice.

Jennings is also pretty social, but along with Beaty, the location is still good, but not as great. Both are right by sorority row though. Jennings is also nicer than Broward and Rawlings

I would AVOID the entire broward area at all costs. Unless you are either 1) an intense partier, 2) plan on being in greek life, and/or 3) enjoy chaos I would avoid broward.

Jennings is a nice area for freshmen. I would also recommend anything in the Murphree, Tolbert, and Graham areas in that order. All these areas are filled with freshmen and the staff are so friendly and lively you will never be bored (this is esp true in Murphree)

What kind of room were you looking to get?

@Ryan I lived in Beaty for an entire year and I can say it is one of the most ANTI-SOCIAL dorms on campus. If you want to socialize and make friends in a nice setting, I would suggest the Murphree Area.
