Social Justice Living Learning Community

My daughter has just be invited to apply to this program. Does anyone have any input that you would like to share?! My daughter has been very involved in leadership, and service throughout high school, and this seems like a very fun opportunity for her to connect with people who share the same desires. Trouble is, she likes to be involved with everything! and she really wants to get into the Film program at FSU in her sophmore year--will she be spreading herself too thin, once again?

I received a call from the Social Justice Living Learning Community. If you go to their website and fill this out:
[Social Justice Living-Learning Community - Info Request](http://socialjustice.fsu.edu/request.html)
One of the current freshman members of the living-learning community will call and most likely talk to you and your daughter, to increase your understanding of what the program is.

From what I was told, the program does not sound like it would be too much for a new student (I asked the same question, because I’m going in as a history major and I want to participate in the honors program.)

I’m interested in this program too, however I’m not sure if I’m eligible. It says for first time in college (FTIC) students only, and I’ll be going in with about 45 dual-enrollment credit hours. Anyone know if I can still apply?

If those credit are dual enrollment/IB/AP taken before your high school diploma was awarded, you are still a FTIC student.

Okay! Thank you!

So I got a call that I’m a finalist for the Social Justice LLC. They said that they go on mandatory retreats in the fall and spring. Does anyone know what they do and where they go?

People can still apply right

@Joseph If I’m not mistaken, the deadline to apply for any LLC was Aprill 11th, they announce Acceptance/Denial/Alternates on the 20th (wednesday) I applied for Bryan Hall’s LLC… I hope I get in :-P

@Joseph, I just found this on the Housing website…

“Missed the April 11 Deadline? If you are an incoming First Time In College student and you have applied for Fall Housing, you may apply for the alternate lists of one or more LLCs at this site any Wednesday through Saturday. Typically, many alternates are ultimately invited into LLCs.”

[The Florida State University - University Housing](http://housing.fsu.edu/LLC%20redirect.html)

I got an interview the other day via phone…I cant wait until wednesday!! :)

@granngrann

Thanks I know the deadline was april 11but I remember.hearing that you can apply.after and I just wanted to clarify that but thanks I also applied to learning community at bryan hall and the social science and public affairs community

@alray363 is it only the social justice community.that calls or is that with every llc

i think other communities may give out interviews, but i know the social justice community does because they accept fewer people (about 43 students) than bryan hall learning community. So because they are more selective, they have interviews

So… What are my chances if I am:

24 alternate for Bryan

10 alternate for Social Justice

and #14 alternate for Public Affairs?

:/
Also, can my status change this week, or do I need to wait til next Wednesday?

17 alternate for Bran Hall :-(

Can someone please put the link to the login page to see the results

…
Nevermind

I got in to both learning community at bryan hall and my number one choice social science and public affairs  ahhh words can’t describe how excited I am

No worries anymore :D
