Social life as a Junior Transfer

Like many of those who have gone through the same path as myself, I am hopefully going to transfer to UCLA for Fall'10. One thing that I wondered was how fitting in was and making new/long lasting friendships was going to be. Will it be fairly tough since I wasn't there to for the first and second year where most clicks began to form? I thought about joining a frat just so I can make a bunch a freeinds and what not. I just want to have a great college experience and UCLA has the best reputation for that!

THANKS!

the opposite sex will through themselves at you because you’ll be more mature than your competitors.

*throw (sorry pet peeve)

and don’t worry, you’ll be alright. you’ll make plenty of friends as long as you’re friendly and fun

haha thanks. cant wait to be there!! AHH!

Haha I’m a junior transfer hoping to go to ucla and I am wondering the same thing! Are you staying on campus?

if you guys will be on campus housing they will put you in Delta Terrace which is from now on dedicated only to transfers. you guys will make friends with others just like yourselves so it’ll be fine.

vball chick:

I don’t think I’ll be staying on campus. I most likely will be moving in with some buddies. Trying to get an apartment as close to the campus. They live on Gayley now. This wait for admissions is killler…

Are you living on campus?

The wait for admissions is more than a killer! Haha oh your moving in with friends… You have nothing to worry about haha u’ll already know people. I’m pretty sure I’ll live on campus. Good luck with ur acceptence

hey sid3000, is delta terrace our only option as transfers as far as on campus goes?

Man, I feel bad for you guys. When I was waiting a year ago I put myself through such hell…the two or three weeks before decisions came out was rough.

I transferred as a junior this year…it was ok. Academically it went well, but I’m slightly older than most of my classmates and married, so having a busy social life or making friends wasn’t really my top priority. People generally seem nice though, and I heard it’s easy to make friends if you live on campus.

delta terrace is the only housing option for transfers?? I want to live in dykstra!! or rieber. or hedrick!

vballchick:
i would live on campus but I’ve herd some horrific stories about the living situation. i herd its basically a jail cell haha. and i already experienced the freshman dorming. Goodluck to you too. hopefully we will be bruins in a month haha

Not sure if Delta Terrace is the only option - I know it’s designated as Transfer Housing now, but that doesn’t mean that transfers have to live there…
