<p>Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me about the social scene at amherst? What the party scene like? How is dating at amherst? Do most amherst guys date girls from the other schools around amherst (smith, mount holyoke)?</p>
<p>overall the social atmosphere is great. the party scene is awesome. parties are safe and cops are relatively lenient. amherst students party hard on the weekends and tend to spend a lot of time with friends. since it’s such a small community, people are very close and friendly, but there’s enough people to be meeting new friends all the time. (i don’t know if you’re actually korean or not (i am), but koreans here are especially tight-knit)</p>
<p>while there are some guys who happen to date girls from moho and smith, it’s not that frequent. a lot of my friends date people right here in amherst, so there’s no reason for any rivalry or anything between the schools. it’s true, though, that girls from moho and smith come down to amherst a lot to meet guys at parties (amherst guys are very good-looking!)</p>
