I’m planning on majoring in psychology or anthro with pre-med classes. Does anyone know if there’s a facebook group for bing 2015?? Oh and is there any greek life at bing?

Facebook group: [Welcome to Facebook - Log In, Sign Up or Learn More](<a href=“Facebook - log in or sign up”>Facebook - log in or sign up)

I just joined, see you all in September!!

I’m visiting tomorrow as well. See some of you there!

Just got back from visiting Binghamton. I LOVED IT!!! The campus is amazing, and i feel in love with the school right away. The school has good residence halls. The food was alright wasnt bad but wasn’t great. The people seem really friendly, and outgoing. I felt that Binghamton is worth your money, and has many resources on campus for you to make sure you’ll have the best 4 years of your life. Once again i loved Binghamton, hopefully others feel the same.

I visited today too…great campus! The tours were awesome, too! The guides were great!!
Still going to visit Stony Brook next week and then going to decide. It’s going to be tough. :)

Artificialcas- what info session did you go to?

Same boat as you lol, i’m visiting stony brook next sat. as well, But i think you’ll liek Bing more. SB is similar to Bing, but i just feel a different atmosphere at bing, more of that classic university feeling…this will be a tough choice as well for me, but i feel Bing. will be the place i attend next fall. I visited mostly everything i think, what did u think of the food? and what residence hall u visited? i saw in the woods i think thts how u call it

just got back from bing. it was awesome. went to the som info session and saw new newing (unbelievably nice btw). feel free to ask any questions

Man you guys are getting me hyped for the fall, I’ve paid my deposit but haven’t visited. Looking forward to meeting everyone! Anyone planning on doing premed? I’m doing that w/ anthro or psych major.

Ooh, I’m getting excited too :D. I totally regret not signing up for next week. Plus, I can’t got to the July orientations so the next time I see the school will be like three days before the year starts… haha oh well.

I should probably start a new thread for this but does anyone know if we’re tied to the majors we applied with? I figured out what I want to change mine to, and I’m sure it’s a pretty easy process (both are in Harpur) but I don’t know if we all go in as blank slates or not.

Try calling admissions, cause it can be difficult changing majors during the fall term, since many students still haven’t send the fee in yet, there still seats for harper. So contact admissions asap!! :)

Artificialcas- I went to most of them too and I also went to “college in the woods” dorms. They were really nice…all the dorms were nice. food was good too.
I’ve visited SBU before, but for some reason I don’t remember it too well.
What’s your major?

I’m undeclared at the moment but i’m interested in a English or Business Major!

hey, im still deciding between bing, stony, buffalo, or albany. leaning towards bing though. i got accepted into the Engineering and Applied science program (Thomas J. Watson). what if i want to switch my area of study to business?

I was also there yesterday with my D. She loves it, can’t wait to go. She complained that it was such a tease to visit now–she has to wait 4 months before she can start. We visited the new Newing dorm that is open and it is gorgeous. She was set to request CIW but changed her mind. Like a hotel, and it will be air conditioned (for the 5 days a year you might need it). Like others have said–everyone was very friendly, it has a homey feeling, not overwhelmingly big. She also saw several camp friends who she hadn’t seen in years who are enrolled as well. Although the tours and programs ended at 3, we didn’t leave campus until 5, she was talking with future classmates.

Wait is Newing open now? And can freshmen get a dorm there? I would love to apply.

To be honest SolR, the admissions lady told me Newing is still under construction and anyone who choses to live there could be woken up by its noise early in the morning…not the best place to live if you want uninterrupted sleep :)

Newing and CIW sound like the best dorms socially, they’re definitely my top 2 choices. Any input on how hard it is to get into them?

Ah thanks for the tip songbird, personally I like my sleep. I just want a dorm near the academic buildings so I don’t have to walk too far.

Hey, guys. I wasn’t able to visit yesterday and the upcoming Sunday due to how both events were full. I was sent the email relatively late. For those of you who actually went, would you like to enlighten me on what you learned/experienced? Thanks.

One new Newing dorm opened last fall. We were told the remainder will be open this fall. Most of the heavy construction appeared to be done, although it still looked like a construction site. We were told that the heavy equipment would be moved and sod put down over the summer. We were also told that the old Newing dorms, most of which are still standing, are next on the list to be knocked down and replaced with new buildings.
