<p>There is some law about being open twenty-four hours in Providence, so almost anything that owuld be open 24hrs, like say, Store 24, is closed from 2-5am.</p>

<p>i believe the 2-5 thing is supposed to be for townie's to get sleep. I dont know for sure though. Late night intellectual convos are not common, but do happen. You can also party without getting trashed, an option that many people seem to forget exists.</p>

<p>If late-night intellectual conversations weren't common during your freshman year, that might've been a function of your dorm's social dynamics or your particular friends... they're definitely common if that's what you want.</p>
